Antique Hewing/Bark Spud/Chisel

I believe this to be a Bark Spud or Peeling Chisel.

This tool is hand forged.

I think it was used to peel the bark off of trees in preparation for milling.

It is very, very old but is in great condition.

This is one of those tools that's fun to look at and hold.
